Happy Weekend!
It’s Shabneez here with some inspiration for the April Watercolour Challenge, which I hope you’ll join in with! I decided to use the liquid watercolours for backgrounds on my cards and these are just a selection that I came up with as it’s rather addicitive and lots of fun!
First up I used Soulmate, Autumn Blaze and Lemon Tart. I used water colour paper for all my creations and taped them down on my table before I wet the paper with my brush then added drops of colour, using a brush to move the colours around.
Once the paint was dry I heat embossed the Beautiful Blooms Border stamp in black and you can see the beautiful sheen on the card. I added a sentiment after matting on to a black background.
Next up, I used a small part of the background I created with Lemon Tart, Evergreen and Poolside behind the die cut butterflies and to die cut the happy.
I dry embossed the background of the card with a stencil to give it a little more texture.
For my final card I used the entire background created using Grape Jelly, Ripe Plums and Pool Side.
I added a die cut dandelion together with a heat embossed sentiment – simple but effective.
I hope this post has inspired you to use your watercolours to create backgrounds – it really is very addictive!
