Using patina effect paste to alter a mirrow

Hello crafty friends!
Last month CrafTangles released a new range of mixed media products and one of them is the patina effect texture paste. It contains 4 jars and combined they give an awesome patina effect to any project. I used these pastes to alter a handmirrow.

I used a cheap wooden mirrow and first I disassembled the mirrow part so it won’t get dirty. Then I glued on a few flowers.

Next I covered the entire piece, including the flowers, with white gesso.

Then I painted the front and back of the mirrow with the mint, light blue and darker blue paste.

and continued with the metallic colored paste.

It was my first time working with patina effect paste and you have to play a bit with the colors and the effects it’s creating. Just keep adding paste until you’re pleased with how it looks.
Here’s a photo of the back of the mirrow.

With copper colored art wax I highlighted some of the areas.

This really gave the complete project a great look.
