Happy Monday!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Doesn’t it go fast? I’m here with a post on using the CrafTangles Old Newspaper stamp in 3 different ways.
When I opened my last DT package I actually let out a little cheer of joy when I saw the Old Newspaper stamp. It’s one that I can see myself using a great deal for many different projects as it’s very versatile. Hopefully this post will show you why you need this stamp in your collection!
To begin with I decided I wanted to use the stamp through a stencil. A little different don’t you think? I used the Balloon Stencil and stamped through in different colour distress inks on top of a smooshed distress ink background. I added twine and bows to my balloons and a stamped sentiment to finish. I then backed it on to blue cardstock,
For my next card I decided to use the stamp as a background and have a play with mixed media. I used an orange sheet from the Ombre Watercolor pad and used distress ink over it to give it an aged look. I then stamped the background using a darker brown distress ink. I added black gesso through a flourish stencil and once dry added the Art Wax with my finger to give it a beautiful shimmer. I finished by adding a sentiment on top of a circle die cut before matting on to a black card base.
For my final card I decided to use the stamp as a border so I stamped it on to white card. I made the background by blending distress inks through the Beehive stencil. I stamped and fussy cut the cake from the Birthday Girl stamp. I stuck the border on at an angle on my card then the cake on top and stamped a sentiment to finish.
So there we have it – one stamp used in 3 different ways. Hope it inspires you to have a go!
See you again later on in the month,
