Happy Weekend!
It’s Shabneez here bringing you a selection of quick and easy pastel Valentine cards. After all you don’t just want to send 1 card do you?! You need at least 3!!!!!
Traditional Valentine cards are red as I suppose you associate red with love but I wanted to create a set of cards that had a softer feel to them so I opted for pastel colours and I think you’ll agree they look pretty don’t they?
For my first card I used the CrafTangles Heart Mesh stencil with Cracked Pistachio Distress Ink though it. I masked off a border top and bottom with low tack tape. I die cut a heart and stamped the Valentines Day stamp in black ink. I then went around the edges of the heart with more distress ink, giving it a softer feel. I stamped 4 hearts in black from the I love you stamp set at the bottom to form a border. Finally, I stuck the heart near the top right hand corner to finish.
Next up is the simplest of my trio of cards as I just felt it didn’t need anything else, after all, less is more! I used Shaded Lilac distress ink through the CrafTangles Quilted Hearts stencil then added ink around the edges to soften it. I die cut an oval and inked around the edges then used the CrafTangles Love Story stamp. I stuck the topper I’d created in the centre of my card.
My final card is probably my favourite. I made the background in the same way as the previous one but using the CrafTangles XOXO stencil and Milled Lavender distress ink. I stamped I love you in the bottom right corner then made a shaker out of a nesting die set and filled it with sequins. I stuck it on with foam pads. I stamped 2 hearts to finish.
I hope you’ve been inspired to use pastel colours for your love themed cards and don’t forget to enter them into the February Challenge so I can see them!
Enjoy your weekend!
