Hello Everyone,
Arpita here, back on the blog with a new pictorial for you all. Today have given the old tins a new look with a technique called decoupage on metal. I love shabby chic and today that is the look I am going for . The Macarons Decoupage paper from Craftangles is perfect for today’s project.
Before I get into the project I wanted to talk about our monthly challenge which is Seasons / Weather and these colorful macarons are perfect food spring inspiration for me.
Let’s start with how to do decoupage on metal box step by step instructions –
Step 1
Today the paper that I am using is the Macorons Decoupage paper from Craftangles. I have cut the paper to the required size.
Step 2
Have primed the box with a coat of Gesso. Once dried painted with the Ivory lace chalky paint.Have given 2 coats of the paint.Have used sponge daubers to paint on the tins today.
Stuck the print using the Decoupage glue.Press down the paper well so you are not left with any bubbles or creases. Also gave a top coat using the same glue
Step 3
I created polka dot effect on the tin. For creating polka dots I dip the flat end of the brush into the paint and made an impression on the surface at equal distances. This is a easy fun way to create beautiful polka dots. Have used the Snow White chalky paints for the polka dots.
Once dried have sealed the complete box with a coat of varnish.
Here is the final look…
