Happy Wednesday!
Eid will be celebrated nect week and as it’s such a major celebration in the Islamic calendar I always make cards to send to family, friends and neighbours. What I tend to find is that Eid cards can be quite traditional so I decided to break from the norm and do a floral set of fresh, modern cards using CraffTangles products.
To start off I wanted my cards to have a softer look to them and I achieved this by not using a black ink to stamp with. In fact I used a grey which I often do when I don’t want the image to appear as bold.
Once I stamped the image I then went in with the liquid watercolours to paint the image, adding shading where I thought it needed it. I finished with the Eid Mubarak sentiment.
I’ve always been in awe at the sets of cards my fellow DT members have come up with in the past and so I thought I too would do a set. This meant I used the same grey ink to stamp all the images and sentiments. Being a floral set, the only differences with the set is the variety in floral images used and the ink colours to paint them with.
I admit I was so tempted to add more to the background but I stopped myself and decided to go for a clean and simple look. I think you’ll agree using this style makes the flowers the stars of the cards which is what I set out to achieve.
See you again next week!
