Black and white altered pumpkins with art waxes

Hello, everyone! It’s Henriëtte here and today I’m showing two different ways of using art waxes, on a black and on a white background.

My project started with these plastic pumpkins.

First I painted them with a coat of gesso.

Then I painted them black using acrylic paint.

Next I added the art waxes; I used iridescent pink, violet and green.

I did repeat this process, but this time the background of the pumpkins was much lighter, more pastel colored.

The picture doesn’t show it well but in real life they have a very delicate shine.

You can see the difference between the black and white backgrounds very well. The black is more bold with much shine and the white/pink is much softer.

Then I decorated the pumpkins with flowers, laces and paper leaves.

The lighter colored pumpkins are more in a shabby chic style.

Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day.

Hugs, Henriëtte.
