Art Journalling by Preeti Datta

Hi folks !
Good Morning 🙂

Preeti Datta (Dutt Preety) here.
Today, I’ve created an Art Journal Spread.

I was inspired by nature & have used mixed media techniques on the pages.
I have used mixed media products by CrafTangles as well as other products from Hndmd.

Process:

1. Applied White Gesso to the pages to prepare them for mixed media work
2. Applied CrafTangles Chalky Paint- Buttercream to the background
3. Mixed CrafTangles Texture Pastes Cement and Asphalt (to create the desired consistency & colour) and then applied them through a stencil onto the background
4. To add more interest to the background, sponged on CrafTangles Chalky Paints-Botanical Teal and Cool Jade through a couple of stencils onto the background (use very little paint to get a good sponged image)
5. Stamped onto the background using black archival ink and a text stamp
6. To add more colour to the background, sprayed the pages with water and then added CrafTangles Liquid Watercolours- Lemon Tart, Evergreen & Poolside.
7. Die cut a few beetles using CrafTangles Charcoal Black Cardstock & to add shine to them, applied CrafTangles Art Wax- Turquoise
8. Adhered Tim Holtz metallic stickers and the die cut beetles to the pages using soft acrylic gel & created ink splatter using watered down gesso and chalky paints.
9. In the end, distressed the edges of the pages using distress inks and added crystals to the beetles.
