Hello everyone, today I’m sharing another mixed media project with you.
This time I’ve altered a paint brush.
I bought a cheap paint brush, it’s about 23 cm tall.
The first thing I did was to cover it with 2 layers of white gesso.
Then I choose my embellishments, like metal flowers, some brads, chipboards and
arranged them on the brush
Before gluing on the embellishments I glued on some lace and wrapped a piece of cheesecloth around the handle of the brush. I also added lightweight art stones for more texture.
I covered all the pieces with gesso and let it dry overnight.
Then I used CrafTangles art sprays vibrant violet, bamboo brown and a bit of
carbon black to color the brush.
You just keep adding the colors and water to the project until you are pleased with how it looks.
Between the color layers I used my heat tool to speed up the drying process.
Finally I’ve added a few gems and rubbed gold and iridescent violet art waxes to
highlight the embellishments.
This last step makes all the difference to the project.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hugs, Henriette.
