Hello Fellow Crafters , I am Dhruvika ,I hope all of you are all prepped up for Happy Diwali, the festival of lights and joy. Today I have 3 Diwali cards for the ethnic look using 1 stamp ‘ Hello Lovely’ Stamp set. Lotus is an auspicious symbol of prosperity and known to bring good luck. So i decided to create 3 cards using single stamp set and why not stretch our supplies.
Also, we have the November monthly challenge where the challenge is to create anything Glitters / Ethnic project. Ethnic inspiration can be anything from Indian traditional projects to Diwali projects. Your projects can also contain glitter in an interesting way. You can take a look below for the details of our monthly challenge.
Now let’s see how we can use the Craftangles Hello Lovely Stamp Set to create the ethnic cards and add some glitter using various products by Craftangles, the one stop for crafty goodness.
Table of Contents
Card 1 : Happy Diwali Infinity Shaker Card
For this card I trimmed a panel measuring 4.25 x 5.5 inches from the Dual Textured White Cardstock and gold heat embossed it after stamping the lotus from the stamp set using the Versafine Watermark Ink. I then ink blended the panel using the distress inks in the following shades :-
- Mustard Seed
- Wild Honey
- Dried Marigold
- Carved Pumpkin
- Fried Brick
- Aged Mahogany
- Walnut Stain
After the ink blending was , I created a pouch from the Craftangles Transparencies and secured using the double sided tape on three sides. I then made a sequin mix from a lot of Craftangles sequins and filled in the pouch and finally adhered the fourth side. And mounted this panel on the cardbase measuring 4.25x 5.5 inches.
I pasted the sentiments Happy Diwali from the Craftangles Steel Dies Diwali in english script
Card 2 : Mixed Media Happy Diwali Card
This is a mixed media base Happy Diwali Card, for this card, I stamped the lotus images on to the watercolor paper and using the Versafine Onyx Black waterproof ink and then colored using the Liquid Watercolor in Poolside by Craftangles. I loosely colored these flowers for a flowy look. Once i was happy ith the colroj g i fussy cut them using my regular scissors.
For the base of the card I used the following texture pastes :-
- Craftangles Clear Gloss Texture Paste
- Craftangles Gold Dust Texture Paste
I made a panel on the left side and half a motif on to the other side and randomly stenciled so as they were under the flower.
The stencils that i have used are as below:-
- Craftangles Damask Stencil
- Craftangles Indian Motifs Stencil
- Craftangles Flower Cluster Stencil
After I was happy with the intricate stencils and the stenciling using the texture pastes by craftangles, I let them fry and then adhered the lotuses using the 3D foam tape. To complete the look I heat set the sentiments from the stamp set Happy Diwali in white on Craftangles Charcoal Black Cardstock.
Card 3 : Clean and Simple Diwali Card
For my last Diwali Card, I first stenciled the Craftangles Round Lace Stencil using the Craftangles Gold Dust Texture Paste and let it aside to dry. I then watercolored the lotus in the traditional colors of red, pink and green and fussy cut them. I then adhered the flowers using the 3D foam tape.
To complete the look, I die cut the shubh deepawali sentiments from the Craftangles Steel Dies thrice and stacked them to adhere using the liquid glue. I then mounted this panel on to the Craftangles Charcoal Black Cardstock measuring 5.5x 4.25 inches.
Below is the tutorial of these four fun cards . Do have a look and leave some love.
