3 Independence Day Cards

Hello Everyone

Hope you are all doing well. Today I am here with 3 simple independence day cards honouring the nation and celebrating the Indian independence day.

August is a month where at Craftangles show gratitude towards our nation and pray for the wellbeing of the warriors.  Do not forget to join the monthly challenge, we would love to see your take on this theme. All three of my cards are A2 sized, i.e they measure 4.5 inches *5.5 inches.

For the first card, I made a mini slim line card which measures 3.5” *6”. I simply wanted to portray the various people of India on this card and the stamp set “People of India” as the name suggests is perfect for this card. Since I wanted to stamp the images to look like they are all together I masked part of the images with washi tape to overlap them. I also used a stitched scallop die on the borders of the panel am finally mounted the panel with a backdrop of a patterned paper.

For the second card, I made a similar card but this time I tried to draw a stethoscope to the two images that I stamped and fussy cut. This card was to honour the doctors/nurses and the entire medical community who have been at the frontline of this pandemic. I simply placed the cut images on top of the inked background panel in the colours of the Indian flag. I finally stamped the sentiment so proud of you .

For the final card, I used stamp set “Will you be mine” and converted the image of the little girl in a frock into a little traditional outfit by masking parts of the frock with washi tape. I also coloured the balloons in the hands of the little girl in the colours of the Indian flag. I also used some distress oxide in the tricolour to do some light stencilling in the background.
